Comparison of the Trimble MX9 and the Trimble MX50 mobile mapping systems 9 Example 2: Lamp post label on a noise barrier on a motorway Distance from center of the camera: 5 m Height of the analyzed detail: 0.1 m Driving speed: 62 km/h (∼38 mph) Overview from the 360° spherical camera Detail view from the 360° spherical camera Detail view from the oblique side camera The following graph illustrates the existing relationship between pixel size and distance for the 360° spherical camera and the planar camera. The resulting linear correlation once more is a consequence of the existing different focal length between the two cameras, which is double on planar cameras compared to the spherical camera. This explains the double resolution available from the planar cameras. Existing correlation between distance and pixel size
