Anothermechanicalfeatureisthe360°scannerwindowthatprotectsthescanner'srotating deflectionmirror.ThisspecialwindowisoptimizedfortheEDMwavelengthandhasan anti-reflectivecoatingforbettersignaltransmission.Thewindowhasglass-liketransparencybut isimpact-andtemperature-resistant,perfectfordemandingopticalapplications.Theenclosed designhelpstheTrimbleX9achieveareliableIP55ratingfordustandwaterjetingress protectionandsafeoperationwithprotectionfromthehigh-speedrotatingdeflectionmirror. Traditionally,3Dlaserscannershaveeitherbeenchallengingtolevelwithinrangeforsurvey‑ gradeaccuracyorunabletoeffectivelyachievesurvey-gradeaccuracy.Scannersmayhave accuratesensorsbutlimitedrangeofmeasurement,requiringuserstophysicallylevelthe instrumentwithatribrachtoachievesurvey-gradeaccuracy.Thisprocesstakestimeinthe fieldandacertainlevelofexpertise.Otherscannersmayhavewide-rangesensorswithlow accuracysoyoucanscanfromanyorientation,butyoucan'tachievesurvey-gradeaccuracy.
