TheTrimbleX9integratesasmartcoaxialcamerasystemwiththree10MP
cameras.Resolutionforeachimageis3840x2746pixels,eachwitha
specificfieldofviewtooptimizecoverageandproductivity.Thecoaxialityof
thecamerasisgivenbymechanicaldesignandthealignmentoftheir
opticalaxistocrossthecenterofourgimbalsystemtominimizeparallax
betweenimagesandscans.
Imageacquisitiontimedependsonthenumberofimagesselected.You
havetheoptiontocapture15or30images.Innormallightingconditions,it
takesoneminutetocapture15imagesandtwominutestocapture30
imageswithautoexposure.The15imagecapturetakespicturesfromsix
positions(rotatinghorizontallyin60°increments).The30imagecapture
takespicturesfrom12positions(rotatinghorizontallyin30°increments).
30imageswillenhancescancolorizationandpanoramaimagequality,
especiallyincomplexenvironmentswhereocclusionsaremoreprevalent.
Moreimageswillimprovecoloringandcoverage,howeverimagecapture
andprocessingtimewillincrease.15imagesaresufficientinsimple
environmentswheretherearefewerocclusionsandgoodqualitycoverageispossible.
ThereisalsoaHighDynamicRange(HDR)imagingmodethatacquirestwoadditionalimages
atdifferentexposuresfromeachpositionandmergestheresultstoachieveahigherrangeof
luminanceformorecoloranddetailinbrightanddarkareas.HDRwilltake3minutesto
capture15imagesand6minutestocapture30images.
