Trimble Positions Toolkit

In conjunction with the Trimble® Positions™ Desktop add-in for ArcGIS Desktop, the Trimble Positions Field extensions are the solution for deep integration between a back-office GIS system-of-record and Esri GIS field data collection workflows. Extensions for Esri ArcPad® and ArcGIS® for Windows Mobile enable the seamless collection of high-accuracy GNSS feature data directly into the field application.

Trimble Positions enables customers to achieve better productivity and higher data quality by:

  • Enabling Trimble high accuracy GNSS in their field data collection workflows
  • Supporting both real-time and post-processed workflows with the ability to set accuracy requirements
  • Eliminating the import and export steps that are often required to get data to the field and back
  • Storing collected features and associated metadata to the GIS with just one click

An extension for ArcGIS for Windows Mobile, the Trimble Positions Mobile extension provides Trimble GNSS receiver support for handhelds running Windows Mobile.

  • Support for various Trimble GNSS hardware (e.g. Geo 7X, Juno 5, Nomad 1050, Yuma 2, R1, R2)
  • Records GNSS measurements for post-processing
  • Transports collected GNSS data through existing ArcGIS for Windows Mobile synchronization mechanisms
  • Supports offsets and rangefinders to capture data in inaccessible locations
  • Supports real-time corrections using VRS/single-base, Trimble RTX, or SBAS correction services (real-time correction profiles are defined office-side for minimal field-side configuration)
  • Provides clear notification of feature accuracy threshold, current accuracy estimate, and receiver status
  • Allows for vertex- or track-based collection of line and polygon features
  • Enables collection of high-accuracy Z coordinates (feature heights) through settings for antenna height, type, and geoid grid models for orthometric height calculations
  • Transfers GNSS metadata (e.g. horizontal and vertical accuracies) values in the field application

An extension for Esri ArcPad, the Trimble Positions ArcPad extension provides Trimble GNSS receiver support on both Windows and Windows Mobile hardware.

  • Support for various Trimble GNSS hardware (e.g. Geo 7X, Juno 5, Nomad 1050, Yuma 2, R1, R2)
  • Records GNSS measurements for post-processing
  • Supports complex offsets and rangefinders to capture data in inaccessible locations

The Trimble Positions Toolkit is a means of extending custom applications based on Esri’s ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Windows Mobile for high accuracy.

  • Records GNSS measurements for post-processing
  • Transports collected GNSS data through existing ArcGIS for Windows Mobile synchronization mechanisms

Use the Trimble Positions Mobile Project Center extension to setup and manage your ArcGIS for Windows Mobile data collection projects, and the Trimble Positions Mobile extension in the field to collect high accuracy GNSS positions.

Trimble Positions ArcPad extension v10.2.4.1

  • Esri ArcPad 10.2.4 support. The Trimble Positions ArcPad extension now supports Esri ArcPad 10.2.4 (in addition to versions previously supported) using the traditional desktop-based check-out and check-in workflow (including QuickProjects).
  • Support for the centimeter configurations of the Trimble Geo7X handheld and Trimble R2 GNSS receiver. The Trimble Position ArcPad extension can now be used to collect data using the centimeter configurations of the Geo7X handheld and R2 GNSS receiver Trimble Positions ArcPad Extension Release Notes provided they have a Trimble Position ArcPad extension Centimeter edition license. Both real-time and postprocessed workflows are supported.

Trimble Positions Mobile extension v10.2.1.3

  • Support for the centimeter configurations of the Trimble Geo7X handheld and Trimble R2 GNSS receiver. The Trimble Position Mobile extension can now be used to collect data using the centimeter configurations of the Geo7X handheld and R2 GNSS receiver provided they have a Trimble Position Mobile extension Centimeter edition license. Both real-time and postprocessed workflows are supported.
