Summary

Quickly georeference a laser scanning project using known points like targets and point IDs.

Georeferencing the points in a point cloud is crucial to aligning the point cloud data with real-world coordinates, ensuring accurate spatial positioning. This context and alignment allows for the raw data from a laser scanner to be integrated with other geospatial data sets, and it ensures deliverables meet regulatory requirements.

Watch this 3-minute video to see how to use point IDs and targets as the known points to quickly georeference a laser scanning project within Trimble® Business Center office software. Projects can either be registered in a software like Trimble Perspective, or you can register them in TBC using one of two options before geo referencing.
