TBC power hour: corridor design from PDF cross-section data
Date: September 25, 2024
Time: 8 AM MT
Presenters: Dwight Womack and Albert Olivier
Join the product team in this month's TBC Power Hour to learn how to import PDF cross-sections from a corridor PDF plan set to Trimble® Business Center office software.
The workflow demonstration will consist of the following steps:
- Relayering objects and drawing cleanup, then utilizing the "Create Stored Cross-sections from CAD Drawings" command to extract the cross-sections from the imported sheets automatically. This process involves specifying the elevation and offset grid lines.
- Once the cross-sections are extracted, they can be converted into 3D lines for more detailed modeling and analysis. These 3D lines can then be used to generate surface models essential for volume, area, and length computations.
- The final step includes reviewing and editing the cross-sections to ensure accuracy before using them in surface or corridor designs. This workflow streamlines the process and enhances the accuracy and efficiency of creating CAD-based deliverables from the
PDF plan set.
