Release highlights: Trimble Forensics Capture version 3.9.0

The latest update of Trimble® Forensics Capture software version 3.9.0 prioritizes reliability, usability and overall quality, delivering numerous enhancements based on user feedback. While not focused on major new features, this release includes significant improvements to existing functionalities, ensuring a smoother and more efficient experience for all users.

Key updates

License expiration notification
A visual warning indicator will now notify users of term license expiration and perpetual license maintenance expiration. Term license users will receive a warning 60 days prior to expiration, appearing upon application startup. Perpetual license users will receive a similar notification for maintenance expiration. Post-maintenance expiration, application use is retained, but updates are unavailable.

3D linework display correction
An issue preventing the accurate display of linework in 3D view has been resolved. Linework now renders correctly in 3D.

GNSS base move rod height correction
An error resulting in incorrect rod height readings following a GNSS base move has been rectified, ensuring accurate rod height measurements after base relocation.

Quick Response Solution (QRS) scene start improvement
Enhanced connectivity for GNSS receivers at scene start is implemented for QRS users, reducing setup time and improving operational efficiency.

QRS cellular correction option
Trimble Corrections Hub (TCH) is now supported for QRS users, allowing for cellular data-based corrections (NTRIP). This alternative to satellite corrections aims to improve precision and reduce fix times.

Note: In the event of lost cellular connectivity, users can revert to RTX corrections by restarting the scene and re-shooting control points.

Long-range radio (LRR) communication enhancement
Robustness improvements have been made to LRR communication with optical total stations, addressing potential connectivity loss issues.

Updated instrument support
Support for new GNSS instruments has been added, with further instrument support planned for future releases.
